Job summary

Kenton Black is recruiting an Assistant Management Accountant to join a large division of a global construction group near Chester. You will support the Senior Finance Manager with monthly management accounts, provide insights to Commercial and Operational teams, and contribute to process improvements.

The role offers hybrid working (3 days in the office), a flexible policy, core hours 9am–3pm, and a competitive salary with life cover and enhanced pension contributions.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in a similar role with exposure to accounting in a complex environment.
• AAT qualified, or part ACA/CIMA/ACCA
• Experience handling WIP, contract accounting and subcontractor payments is important for the role.

Responsibilities

• Support the month-end close process, including journals, reconciliations and P&L variance analysis.
• Provide clear financial commentary, investigate variances and challenge unusual transactions.
• Collaborate with Commercial and Operational teams to ensure accurate WIP capture and reporting of costs/payments.
• Assist budgeting and forecasting activities and ensure governance and policy compliance.
