Avove Utilities is recruiting an Assistant Engineer to support the Northumbrian Water Group Design Team. The role focuses on water and wastewater infrastructure, delivering designs from feasibility to detailed construction-ready plans.

It offers hybrid working, with preferred base around our Durham office and NWG’s Pity Me site, and opportunities to work on UK-wide projects. Key responsibilities include surveys, feasibility assessments, design development, collaboration with a multi-disciplinary

Qualifications

• Relevant degree qualification and preferably working towards additional professional qualification.
• Basic understanding of water/wastewater infrastructure design.

Responsibilities

• Undertake surveys, investigations, feasibility assessments and design work under supervision.
• Analyze information and report findings.
• Review contract requirements and identify additional data needs.
• Develop designs that meet client requirements and standards.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and maintain stakeholder relationships.
• Proofread and perform initial document checks; review risk assessments.
• Specify and procure specialist support or surveys.
• Ensure delivery to programme and communicate issues promptly.
