Job summary

Sharp Consultancy is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join a growing finance team based in Doncaster with a hybrid working pattern. You will support month-end, post journals, and maintain accurate financial records while collaborating with the wider finance team.

The role offers exposure across a broad range of accounting duties and progression opportunities for an Accounts Assistant or Assistant Accountant looking to take the next step, with a salary of up to £35,000.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts or finance environment.
• Strong knowledge of reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Solid Excel skills and attention to detail.
• AAT study or accounting qualifications advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end processes and reporting.
• Prepare and post journals.
• Bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Accruals and prepayments.
• Support with accounts payable and receivable.
• Assist with VAT returns.
• Maintain accurate financial records.
• Investigate discrepancies and queries.
• Support the wider finance team with ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
