Job summary

Sharp Consultancy is recruiting an Assistant Accountant to join a growing finance team in Doncaster. This role suits someone with experience in accounts or finance, looking to take the next step and gain exposure across a broad range of duties, with a hybrid working pattern.

You will support month-end processes, posting journals, reconciliations, VAT returns and ad-hoc reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong Excel skills, attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and

Qualifications

• Experience in an accounts or finance environment.
• Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping.
• Experience with reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and ability to work independently within a team.
• AAT study or accounting qualifications are advantageous but not essential.

Sharp Consultancy is currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join a growing finance team based in Doncaster.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant or Assistant Accountant looking to take the next step in their career and gain further exposure across a broad range of accounting duties, whilst benefiting from a hybrid working pattern.

Working closely with the wider finance team, you will be involved in the day-to-day running of the accounts function, supporting with month-end and ensuring the financial information is accurate and up to date.

• Supporting with month-end processes and reporting
• Preparing and posting journals
• Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Accruals and prepayments
• Supporting with accounts payable and receivable
• Assisting with VAT returns
• Maintaining accurate financial records
• Investigating and resolving discrepancies and queries
• Supporting the wider finance team with ad-hoc reporting and analysis

About you

We're looking for someone with previous experience within an accounts or finance environment who is keen to develop their knowledge and take on more responsibility.

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or Assistant Accountant position
• Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
• Experience with reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments
• Strong Excel skills
• Good attention to detail and a methodical approach
• Excellent communication skills
• The ability to work independently while also contributing to a wider finance team
• AAT study or a desire to progress with your accounting qualifications would be advantageous, but isn't essential.
