Job summary

Pinewood Group is seeking an Assistant Accountant to support the Senior Finance Manager and assist the Financial Accountant and Management Accountant. The role covers revenue and cost recognition at month end, and the preparation of monthly management accounts by cost centre to support business partnering.

You will maintain the balance sheet with reconciliations, contribute to CAPEX processes, and assist with regulatory returns.

Qualifications

• Degree level education or equivalent experience
• Experience of accounting within a high-volume workload Finance function
• Preparation of both the P&L and balance sheet for internal management reporting
• Balance sheet reconciliations and analysis
• Strong across MS Office applications, with at least intermediate Excel skills
• Exposure to MS Dynamics 365 is desirable

Responsibilities

• Account for revenue recognition and cost recognition at month end
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations with explanations
• Prepare monthly management accounts by cost centre and present to the business
• Support CAPEX processes including capitalisation and disposals
• Assist with regulatory returns (VAT, EC sales list, CIS) and HMRC submissions
• Allocate central costs between entities and cost centres
• Load budgets into D365 for consolidation and reporting
• Support external audit with information and explanations
