Job summary

Citizen is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our finance department, reporting to the Accountant and supporting across the business. You will help provide accurate financial information and assist in forecasting for Budget Holders.

The role includes producing monthly management accounts, reconciling control accounts, and generating reports from the Open Accounts system. Hybrid role with 2 days in the office.

Qualifications

• GCSEs including Maths and English (A-C) or equivalent.
• AAT level 3 or CCAB qualification OR working towards within 12 months.
• Ability to present and explain the findings of data analysis to the Accountant and stakeholders.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an accounts environment providing accurate, timely financial information to Budget Holders.
• Knowledge of computerised accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial advice and support to Budget Holders for income and expenditure to enable effective financial controls and forecasting.
• Undertake budgetary control meetings to ensure effective budget control.
• Reconciliation of control accounts on a regular basis.
• Write or amend reports from the finance database (Open Accounts) and prepare ad hoc reports as required by the Accountant.
• Support the Accountant in producing monthly management accounts, including forecasting outturns.
