Job summary

Yorkshire Building Society Group is seeking a Software Development Engineer for API & Microservices to design, develop and test Java Spring Boot microservices that support digital platforms in a hybrid Leeds/Bradford environment.

You will work with API design, pipelines, and monitoring while collaborating with tech leads, architects, and product owners to ensure scalable, robust services and timely delivery.

Qualifications

Hands-on experience of Java and Spring Boot.
Desirable skills include RESTful design and API gateway knowledge (Azure).
Cloud applications and modern digital platforms experience.
Familiarity with containers and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, document, and test APIs and Java Spring Boot microservices.
Contribute to automated build pipelines and monitoring capabilities.
Lead peer reviews of code, tests, and documentation.
Collaborate with tech leads, architects, analysts, and product owners.
Ensure designs meet current and future architecture requirements.
Provide out-of-hours support for services.
