Job summary

London Business School is seeking a proactive Communications Assistant to support the Advancement team in delivering engaging alumni and donor communications across channels. You will help create, refine, coordinate and publish content while developing your communications skills in a collaborative environment.

Reporting to the Senior Strategic Communications Manager, you will support email communications, LinkedIn content, web copy and social platforms, with opportunities to learn across brand,

Qualifications

  • Further education or equivalent experience in communications or related field.
  • A vocational qualification, or interest in developing professional communications capability is helpful.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential.
  • Proof-reading skills and strong attention to detail are required.
  • Basic IT proficiency and familiarity with standard software packages.
  • Experience with mailing software is advantageous.
  • Proactive collaboration and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Good teamwork and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to interpret and apply guidelines to communications activities.

Responsibilities

  • Write, proof-read and refine Advancement content for alumni and donor audiences.
  • Draft and share content for LinkedIn profiles and digital channels.
  • Ensure content is on brand, consistent in style and tone.
  • Optimise content for LinkedIn and other channels.
  • Identify opportunities for unplanned communications and respond promptly.
  • Brief production of new collateral and creative assets.
  • Contribute to communications planning and stakeholder meetings.
  • Protect brand voice and flag risks as needed.
  • Provide administrative support to the communications team.
  • Assist with schedule planning and reporting for Advancement communications.
  • Collaborate with Brand and Marketing on assets.
  • Support central social media activities for alumni and events.
