Job summary

Airbus in Filton, Bristol, is offering a 12.5-month placement for undergraduates to design and manufacture metallic parts using AM technology within the Airbus AM community.

The role will involve design for additive manufacturing, building skills across the production cycle, and collaboration with cross-functional teams on Series aircraft projects. You will gain hands-on experience in design, printing, post-processing and testing while supporting diverse, inclusive, and innovative work culture.

Qualifications

• Undergraduates must be enrolled for the full duration of the placement.
• Study towards an Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering degree.
• Willingness to work in a technical team environment.
• Good listening and communication skills.
• Interest in Additive Manufacturing and aircraft applications.
• Ability to make decisions based on evidence.

Responsibilities

• Design and manufacture metallic parts using AM.
• Develop skills within the Airbus AM community.
• Contribute to use-cases across the Airframe and Systems Centre of Competences.
• Perform tasks across design, printing, post-processing and testing.
• Support AM department activities like Optimisation Driven Design and Drawings.
