Job summary

TPF Recruitment, the Southeast’s leading accountancy recruitment specialists, are partnering with an independent firm of Chartered Accountants in Portsmouth, Hampshire to recruit an experienced Accounts Manager in Havant. The role offers varied responsibilities and significant client interaction with autonomy to manage a portfolio.

You will supervise delivery of accounts work, review statutory and group accounts, and support tax matters while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA qualified or AAT qualified with experience in a Chartered Accountants firm.
• Experience in a mid-tier or reputable practice handling complex accounts and high-value clients.
• Strong technical ability including review of statutory accounts and consolidation for Director review.
• Good knowledge of corporation tax and VAT; client relationship management and advising on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Manage your portfolio of clients and report directly to the Directors.
• Review and oversee statutory accounts, group accounts, consolidations and tax returns.
• Build and maintain client relationships; provide proactive advisory support.
• Attend and lead client meetings discussing financial performance and needs.
• Support outsourced Finance Director-level services with commercial insight.
• Assist with complex tax planning and collaborate with colleagues and Directors.
• Ensure work is completed accurately and prepared for final Director review.
• Mentor junior team members and maintain high standards in the accounts team.
