Job summary

New Appointments Group is seeking a Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant for a three-month temporary contract at our Daventry site. The role is full-time (37.5 hours) with a hybrid pattern: three days onsite, two days remote.

You will cover lease accounting, payroll journals, monthly/quarterly reporting, and balance sheet reviews with month-end close.

Ideal candidates will hold ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent with a degree; strong Excel, analytical, and communication skills; Oracle/Power BI a plus.

Qualifications

• Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Degree/qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Strong financial accounting and reporting experience.
• Good Excel skills are essential.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Experience with Oracle, Power BI or Power Query would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Able to work independently and manage deadlines effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lease accounting and quarterly audit support.
• Payroll journals, reconciliations and reporting.
• Monthly and quarterly corporate reporting.
• PSA return preparation and PII variance analysis.
• Month-end close and Balance Sheet reviews.
• Annual Tax Pack preparation for Daventry and Kent.
• Financial analysis, variance investigation and internal controls.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant financial and tax regulations.

Education

Accounting/Finance degree or equivalent

Professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
