Job summary

The ONE Group are recruiting a Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant to join the Power Systems division in Daventry on a temporary basis. This role covers lease accounting, payroll, corporate reporting and month-end activity across two UK sites, within a busy finance team.

The assignment is hybrid, with three days onsite in Daventry and two days remote each week, and is confirmed until 24 December 2026. Preferred start date is 14 September 2026.

Qualifications

• Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant, or degree in Accounting/Finance.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Experience with month-end accounting, reconciliations and reporting.
• Able to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and organised approach.
• Oracle/Power BI/Power Query experience useful but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain lease accounting records and support quarterly audits.
• Complete payroll journals, reconciliations and reporting.
• Produce monthly and quarterly corporate reports.
• Prepare PAYE Settlement Agreement return.
• Analyse and report monthly Profit in Inventory variances.
• Manage the close-the-books process for the Kent site.
• Prepare and present balance sheet reviews at month-end.
• Prepare annual tax packs for Daventry and Kent sites.
• Investigate variances and provide insights to stakeholders.
• Review and strengthen financial controls with remediation plans.
• Keep up to date with tax, banking, pension and accounting regulations.
