Job summary

CMA Recruitment Group is partnering with a growing accountancy practice in Waterlooville, Hampshire to recruit an Accountant. The role involves handling a diverse client portfolio, ensuring statutory accounts and tax returns are prepared accurately and on time, while delivering proactive client service.

You will be fully qualified with at least two years in practice, proficient in Xero/QuickBooks/DEXT/FreeAgent, and enjoy a supportive, flexible hybrid working environment with clear development

Qualifications

• Fully qualified member of a recognised professional body (AAT, ATT, ACCA or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 years' experience in practice.
• Experience in preparing accounts and tax returns across multiple client types.
• Strong knowledge of tax regulations and client-facing communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, submit, and review accounts and tax returns for Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies.
• Mentor and guide team members to foster continuous learning and excellence.
• Engage with clients to deliver outstanding service and onboarding of new clients.
• Advise on tax planning and efficiency and assist with cash flow and budgeting.
• Manage bookkeeping, VAT returns, year-end client meetings, and fee reviews.
• Liaise with HMRC and Companies House to resolve queries and ensure compliance.
• Represent the firm's values by delivering clear, insightful advice and maintaining high professional standards.
