Job summary

Veolia in Thamesmead is seeking an HWRC Operative to support ecological transformation by guiding residents on correct waste disposal and upholding site rules.

The role runs 08:00 to 18:00 on a shift basis, with responsibilities including traffic management, enforcing rules, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting the management team with site operations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Inform the public of correct bays/methods for waste disposal.
  • Provide clear instructions and ensure rules are observed.
  • Escalate issues to management related to site rules.
  • Manage traffic into and on-site to keep operations smooth.
  • Check IDs and permits from residents and site users.
  • Maintain site cleanliness and tidiness.
  • Sort and move waste streams as required.
  • Maintain Health & Safety standards on-site.

What you'll be doing;
  • Advising the general public of correct bays/methods to ensure materials go into the correct bins
  • Provide clear instructions to users and ensure rules are observed.
  • To inform the management team of issues linked to site rules observance transgressions
  • Manage traffic into and on-site
  • Check I.D and Permits from Residents and site users
  • Maintaining site cleanliness
  • Any other request from the management team
  • Sorting and moving waste streams as and when required
  • Maintaining Health & Safety standards of site
