Job summary

Veolia in Aldershot is seeking an HWRC Manager to oversee the smooth, safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the Household Waste Recycling Centre. You will supervise recycling operatives, ensure compliance with environmental permits, planning conditions and risk assessments, and promote best practices in waste handling and recycling.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a busy recycling site or similar operation.
• Strong health and safety focus with ability to enforce policies.
• Ability to lead, motivate and develop a on-site team.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the smooth, safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the Household Waste Recycling Centre in Aldershot.
• Supervise the recycling operatives on site, helping the team work effectively and maintain high standards.
• Ensure the site is operated in line with its waste permit, planning conditions, discharge consents and risk assessments.
• Apply relevant environmental requirements, including Duty of Care under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and Regulation 12 of the Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2011.
• Maintain the health and safety of everyone on site, including members of the public, visitors, employees and contractors.
• Follow Veolia's Quality, Health, Safety and Environment policies, procedures and business management system in all aspects of the role.
• Promote the recycling of materials wherever possible, making use of the best available techniques and supporting responsible waste management.
