Job summary

NuStaff Recruitment is seeking an experienced Paint Technician in Pontypool to join a busy manufacturing team. You’ll paint and refinish commercial parts using HVLP spray equipment, ensuring quality and safety standards are met first time.

The role involves preparing surfaces, colour matching, and maintaining bake ovens. You’ll work a 3-shift rotation (Mornings/Afternoons Mon-Fri, Nights Sun-Thu) with a salary of £37,746.80 per year and future shift allowance.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds Level 3 or IMI in automotive refinishing, or time served with similar paint finishing experience.
• Good knowledge of paint application techniques and accurate colour mixing and matching.
• Experience of ovens, curing temperatures and drying procedures.
• Able to work to tight deadlines and read technical instructions.
• Good understanding of health and safety, PPE and fire awareness.
• Excellent attention to detail, with a positive can-do attitude.
• Able to commute reliably to Pontypool

Responsibilities

• Check surfaces are prepped for paint and feed back concerns to the prep team.
• Mix and match paint to specification and spray parts using HVLP equipment.
• Use low-bake ovens and keep them clean and maintained.
• Inspect your own work, fix defects and polish where needed.
• Keep dust and inclusions to a minimum using anti-static equipment.
• Complete process paperwork, keep your area clean and follow all health, safety and COSHH procedures
