Job summary

GE Renewable Energy in Stafford, UK, seeks a Test Technician to perform production routine testing of HVDC & FACTS products and support Test Engineers and the Manufacturing Manager. You will diagnose failures to component level and assist in test equipment upgrades.

Ideal candidates have HV testing experience, a technical electrical qualification, and strong hygiene in safety practices. Excellent communication and a proactive, problem‑solving mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Good general education and communication skills.
• Experience in a HV test environment.
• Knowledge of running test equipment up to 10KV or 2000A @ low voltage.
• Experience in a manufacturing test environment.
• EHS compliance and safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Production routine testing of HVDC & FACTS products.
• Diagnostic testing down to component level for failures.
• Perform routine VAV processes.
• Maintenance, calibration and servicing of test equipment.
• Support test equipment upgrades and product changeovers.
• Maintain daily safety checks and applicable documentation.
