Job summary

GE Vernova seeks a Principal Engineer in Control & Automation Systems to lead the technical authority for HVDC and digital substation automation. You will shape architectures, ensure IEC 61850 compliance, and mentor engineering teams to deliver safe, reliable, and high-value solutions.

You will drive standards, engage with industry bodies, and influence project teams across manufacturing, supply chain, and field operations. Relocation assistance is provided.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in power system automation or substation control engineering.
• Experience with IEC 61850-based systems and related MMS/GOOSE/SCL concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design, architecture, and delivery of control and automation systems for HVDC and digital substation environments.
• Own the technical solution from requirements through governance and implementation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure successful integration and testing.
