GE Vernova is seeking a Principal Engineer in Control & Automation Systems to serve as the technical authority for HVDC and digital substation automation. You will lead architecture, design, implementation, and governance to deliver safe, reliable performance, mentoring teams and steering strategic automation initiatives.

You will shape standards, collaborate with engineers, NPI, utilities and vendors, and represent GE Vernova at industry bodies. Relocation assistance provided may be available.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in power system automation and substation control engineering.
• Deep knowledge of IEC 61850, MMS, GOOSE, SCL and Sampled Values.
• Strong network skills: Ethernet, VLANs, PRP/HSR.
• Experience with IEDs, protection relays, bay controllers, merging units and HMIs.

Responsabilités

• Lead end-to-end design, architecture and delivery of HVDC and digital substation automation.
• Define requirements, ensure IEC standards compliance and governance.
• Mentor engineers and support hiring, promotions and succession planning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors on integration and testing.
