Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a Commissioning Engineer (f/m/d) for HVDC Transmission to join our Protection Team. You will test, verify, and commission Control & Protection hardware and software across worldwide test centers and customer sites.

You will trace issues, support software engineering, and lead Functional and Dynamic Performance Tests, including Customer Acceptance Tests, while traveling for long-term site assignments globally.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering or energy technology required.
• Knowledge of MATLAB/SIMULINK for testing and integration.
• Experience with Siemens SIMATIC TDC/S7 or similar grid protection systems is desirable.
• HVDC systems experience or commissioning experience preferred.
• Fluent English; willingness for worldwide travel and long-term site assignments.
• Good communication, teamwork, and proactive problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Advance HVDC projects to successful completion with customers.
• Conduct integration testing and functional tests of control and protection hardware/software.
• Trace bugs and support software engineering in debugging.
• Execute and document Functional Performance Tests (FPT) and Dynamic Performance Tests (DPT).
• Coordinate commissioning of measuring and protection systems at customer sites.
• Support commissioning management in quality, risk, and claim management.
