Job summary

Kingspan Insulation is seeking a Technical Advisor based at the Basildon site in Essex. You will provide technical advice to customers and Kingspan staff, performing heat transfer calculations for insulation projects and supporting sales teams.

The role emphasizes strong mathematical, scientific, and communication skills, with a focus on accuracy, customer service, and timely responses. 39 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, on-site position.

Responsibilities

• Respond to requests for technical advice via telephone or email.
• Ensure best-practice advice in line with guidelines.
• Produce heat transfer and related calculations for pipe/duct insulation.
• Attend customer meetings with Area Sales Managers when needed.
• Be aware of KPIs and report issues to Line Manager.
• Contribute to development of technical solutions and product literature.

Job description

We are looking for a Technical Advisor for the Kingspan Technical Insulation business. You will be based at our Basildon site in Essex, working 39 hours per week Monday - Friday. As the HVAC Technical Advisor you will be responsible for providing technical advice to customers, as well as to both internal and external Kingspan employees.

Responsibilities Of Our Technical Advisor

• Responds to all requests for technical advice received, via various media (telephone/ email).
• Ensures best practice advice is given at all times, in line with industry and company guidelines.
• Produce heat transfer and associated calculations, for pipework and ductwork insulation according to industry standards. Providing a further understanding of the calculations standards and methods to customers
• On occasions, attend customer meetings with Area Sales Managers / Business Development Managers.
• Is aware of, and pays attention to, Key Performance Indicators.
• Contribute to the development of technical solutions by sharing information and reporting issues to the Line Manager.
• Contribute to product testing, certifications and the review of product literature.

• Excellent time management skills, being highly efficient and well organised.
• High attention to detail at all times.
• Demonstrates the ability to interpret and apply mathematical formulas relevant to HVAC industry calculations.

Whilst not essential, the following would be of benefit:

• Understanding of building physics.
• Presentation skills.
