The Thermal (HVAC) Technical Specialist is interested in a career path in Critical Infrastructure Data Centers and precision cooling, gaining more HVAC education and advancing his/her knowledge in highly specialized HVAC/refrigeration equipment & customer relationships. The experienced Thermal Technical Specialist works independently with cooling, ventilating, and building control systems in commercial and industrial buildings related to data centers. Uses prior experience to problem solve all related HVAC/R technical challenges for the customer. Frequently communicates with Sales Engineers regarding customer needs.

WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING
- Use operational understanding of HVAC/R systems to work on split systems, DX systems, glycol, controls, etc.
- Apply thorough knowledge of thermal dynamics and heat transfer in commercial buildings.
- Perform standard Preventative Maintenance duties on all Liebert/Vertiv Equipment efficiently and independently.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems, replace compressors, failed parts, etc., on all A/C equipment, and guide HVAC Technicians and Assistants.
- Proficiently solder and braze refrigerant and water lines.
- Communicate daily with dispatch about job details, equipment ID, estimated completion time, labor hours, and parts used.
- Read and interpret schematics and control circuits.
- Report to Senior Technical Advisor on startup and commissioning projects.
- Manage larger startup and commissioning projects on Liebert/Vertiv Equipment; assist installing contractors with technical questions.
- Interface professionally with customers, representing Liebert/Vertiv and DVL positively.
- May lead a team of installing contractors.
- Assist in training Thermal Technicians and Technician Assistants.
- Handle refrigerant, reclaimer, vacuum pump, and other essential tools properly.
- Follow safety practices, including SDS, tool safety, equipment safety, and ladder safety guidelines.
- Operate and maintain company vehicle, laptop, and iPhone properly.
- Satisfactorily complete Liebert/Vertiv training classes as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY
- HVAC Certificate from college or trade school
- Universal EPA Certification
- Over five years of full-time HVAC/R experience; experience with Liebert iCom is a plus
- Experience handling refrigerant and making necessary repairs
- Experience troubleshooting electrical and refrigeration systems
- Self-starter with safety training (OSHA 10)
- Proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Valid driver’s license for site visits

The pay range is $36.00/hr. to $44.50/hr. or higher based on experience, plus bonus, work truck, laptop, and iPhone.
