Client Service Manager - Essex

Our client is a well-known and respected HVAC contractor with a nationwide presence across the UK, supporting over 130 employees and generating a turnover exceeding £20M. They operate in the commercial sector, including restaurants, hotels, leisure centres, healthcare, industrial, and education settings.

The company offers installation, service, maintenance, fault finding, and repair on HVAC equipment such as air conditioning, chillers, AHUs, ventilation, and commercial heating.

They are structured as an Employee-Owned Trust, allowing employees to have a say in management, participate in decision-making, and share in profits, fostering a long-term focus on business success and employee investment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a P&L of approximately £1.3M, overseeing service and maintenance operations, ensuring client satisfaction, and leading a team of mobile engineers to maintain service quality and productivity. The role involves client relationship management, contract extension negotiations, and cost control, with a focus on continuous improvement.

Ideal candidates will be stable, committed, driven, and commercially astute, with proven experience in HVAC technical mastery, management, leadership, client relationships, and P&L control.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Proven service or operations management experience leading engineering teams.
2. HVAC technical knowledge of heating, cooling, wet systems, and plant rooms.
3. Ability to lead technical discussions with clients regarding systems, service, maintenance, and remedial works.
4. Strong client-facing and customer service skills, with experience in service and maintenance contract negotiations.
5. Commitment to professional development and increased responsibilities.
6. Experience with P&L, budgeting, and cost control.

Salary & Benefits:

• Basic Salary: £50,000-£60,000 DOE
• Car allowance circa £5k per annum
• Annual bonus based on net profit, service, compliance, and engineer development
• Profit sharing scheme through the Employee-Owned Trust, increasing with tenure
• Pension scheme
