Job summary

VGC Group in Birmingham is seeking an experienced HVAC Fitter Supervisor to lead a live project. You will oversee installation across heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems, ensuring safety, quality and programme adherence.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in HVAC, CSCS, SSSTS/SMSTS, IPAF 3A/3B, F-Gas Cat 1, and related qualifications. The contract is 50 hours per week on a major infrastructure project with a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• CSCS card required.
• SSSTS or SMSTS certification required.
• IPAF 3A and IPAF 3B certifications preferred.
• F-Gas Category 1 certification required.
• City & Guilds Level 3 in Heating & Ventilation preferred.
• First Aid at Work certification required.
• Working at Height and Manual Handling training/competence.

Responsibilities

• Following health, safety and environmental procedures; wear PPE at all times.
• Lead and supervise a team of HVAC fitters to meet programme.
• Oversee installation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
• Allocate daily work activities and monitor performance.
• Conduct toolbox talks and ensure site safety compliance.
• Read HVAC drawings, specifications and technical docs.
• Ensure installations meet project requirements and industry standards.
• Manage installation quality and resolve technical issues on site.
• Coordinate with site management, engineers, subcontractors and other trades.
• Monitor material usage and assist with labour planning.
• Support testing, commissioning and handover activities when required.
• Ensure safe work at height; follow site procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of works, inspections and progress.
• Identify hazards and implement control measures.
• Mentor team members to uphold workmanship standards.
• Report incidents, near misses and safety concerns per procedures.

VGC Group are looking for an experienced HVAC Fitter Supervisor to start on a project in Birmingham. This contract is available to start as soon as possible, and we can offer up to 2 years' worth of work to a successful candidate.

HVAC Fitter Supervisor Experience Your role as an HVAC Fitter Supervisor will be based in Birmingham and will consist of:

• Following all health, safety and environmental procedures and wearing the appropriate PPE at all times.
• Leading and supervising a team of HVAC fitters to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to programme.
• Overseeing the installation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
• Allocating daily work activities and monitoring workforce performance.
• Conducting toolbox talks and ensuring workforce compliance with site procedures and safety standards.
• Reading and interpreting HVAC drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Ensuring all HVAC installations are completed in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Managing installation quality and resolving any technical issues that arise on site.
• Coordinating with site management, engineers, subcontractors and other trades to maintain project progress.
• Monitoring material usage and assisting with labour and resource planning.
• Supporting testing, commissioning and handover activities where required.
• Ensuring work at height activities are undertaken safely and in compliance with site procedures.
• Maintaining accurate records of completed works, inspections and progress updates.
• Identifying potential hazards and implementing effective control measures.
• Mentoring and supporting team members to maintain high standards of workmanship.
• Reporting incidents, near misses and safety concerns in accordance with company procedures.

Based in Birmingham, remuneration for this role is £28.38 per hour PAYE. You will accrue holiday entitlement and be eligible to join the VGC pension scheme once certain criteria have been met.
