Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client, a specialist air conditioning services provider based in Berkshire, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in the HVAC sector, specifically air conditioning, including ductwork.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating CAD drawings and layouts, equipment sizing and selection, and liaising with clients throughout the project. The company works across various sectors, with a focus on CAT B fitouts.

Applicants should have a proven career in the engineering sector, with specific expertise in mechanical engineering, including concept and detailed designs, specifications, and the integration of mechanical services such as air conditioning and ventilation. Project values range from approximately £50,000 to £1.5 million.

Position Requirements

• Previous experience as a mechanical design engineer, specifically in air conditioning
• Knowledge of software packages such as Hevacomp and CAD
• Qualifications such as a degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or similar are advantageous but not essential
• Membership or progress toward membership of CIBSE, IMech, or similar professional bodies is preferred
• Understanding of the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical building services, especially HVAC systems
• Ability to commute to the office in Thatcham
• Working hours: 8:30 am - 5:30 pm
