Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client, a specialist air conditioning services provider based in Berkshire, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with HVAC sector experience, specifically in air conditioning and ductwork.

The role involves creating CAD drawings and layouts, equipment sizing and selection, and liaising with clients throughout the process. The company works across various sectors, predominantly focusing on CAT B fitouts.

The ideal candidate will have a proven career in mechanical engineering, with experience in concept and detailed designs, specifications, and integration of mechanical services such as air conditioning and ventilation. Project values range from approximately £50,000 to £1.5 million.

Position Requirements

• Previous experience as a mechanical design engineer, specifically in air conditioning
• Knowledge of software such as Hevacomp, CAD, etc.
• Qualifications such as a degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or similar are advantageous but not essential
• Membership or progression towards chartered status with CIBSE, IMech, or similar organizations is preferred
• Understanding of design, installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical building services, particularly HVAC
• Located within commuting distance to Thatcham
• Working hours: 8:30 am - 5:30 pm
