Job summary

National Grid is seeking a Policy Manager – HV Safety Rules to lead governance and evolution of the High Voltage Safety Rules framework. You will shape policy, govern procedures and provide expert guidance to ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence across the network.

Qualifications

Minimum HNC in Engineering (or equivalent)
Experience governing or applying High Voltage Safety Rules or equivalent Safety Frameworks
Credibility to act as National Grid's technical authority for HV safety
Professional registration with a recognised Engineering or Health & Safety body
Extensive knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act and related regs
Experience leading specialist technical teams and influencing senior leaders
Excellent communication to translate complex technical requirements into clear standards

Responsibilities

Govern and evolve National Grid's HV Safety Rules framework.
Lead policy development, governance and improvements across HV safety.
Guide technical decision-making with operations and engineers.
Represent the organisation with regulators and industry bodies on HV safety matters
