Job summary

National Grid Ventures (NGV) Interconnectors is seeking an Electrical Safety Lead to own and maintain our Electricity Safety Rules and ISIs, ensuring robust governance across assets and future projects.

You will lead authorisation governance, competence management and assurance activities while collaborating with operational teams, contractors and senior leaders. A hybrid role requires near Warwick, Kent, Portsmouth, Northumberland or Lincolnshire with travel to sites.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Electricity Safety Rules and Safe Systems of Work.
• Experience in an authorised electrical safety role (SAP, AP or equivalent).
• Understanding of transmission, distribution, HVDC or interconnector operations.
• Experience developing or implementing electrical safety procedures and controls.
• Experience with authorisation, competence or training processes for safety-critical roles.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain Electricity Safety Rules, ISIs and guidance.
• Lead ISI 30 authorisation governance and CP reviews.
• Support authorisation assessments and competence reviews.
• Design risk-based electrical safety assurance activities.
• Provide expert advice on applying safety rules and safe systems of work.
• Collaborate with training providers to ensure current competencies.
• Support transitions of BritNed and Nemo Link to NGV rules.
• Assist incident investigations and embed lessons learned.
• Produce management information for leadership teams.
• Represent NGV Interconnectors at safety and industry forums.
