Job summary

National Grid Electricity Distribution seeks a Grade 6 Network Planner at Hinckley to design, cost and route HV network improvements, coordinating with engineers and contractors. You’ll prepare schemes, drawings, and agreements, while managing cost plans and achieving project milestones.

Able to work on high‑voltage projects, you’ll hold relevant qualifications and a UK driving licence, with a proactive, organized approach to workload and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above or Functional Skills Level 2+.
• Level 2 City & Guilds 2339 or equivalent qualification with progression planned if not yet attained.
• Strong communication and planning skills for high‑voltage network projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead project design, costing, quoting and asset reinforcement on HV network.
• Prepare capital plans, designs and off-site coordination activities.
• Ensure schemes meet Engineering Directives and provide clear documentation.
• Manage diaries, coordinate with colleagues, and resolve customer issues.
• Visit sites and support cost control, variances and closures.
