Job summary

Contechs Consulting Limited in Banbury, Oxfordshire, seeks a Battery Test & Diagnostics Engineer on a contract basis to support HV battery and power-system commissioning, diagnostics, validation and fault resolution. You will isolate complex faults, test hypotheses, and drive action across battery hardware, BMS, and test systems, with focus on PEOL/EOL testing and robust fault detection.

The role involves working with design, validation and manufacturing teams to implement fixes and deliver

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with HV battery packs and BMS.
• Proven ability to fault-find complex electrical and system issues.
• Sound understanding of battery pack architecture and BMS protection strategies.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose HV battery pack, BMS and power-system faults across contactors, pre-charge, HVIL and sensors.
• Interpret schematics, CAN/XCP logs, diagnostic codes and oscilloscope traces to isolate faults.
• Lead root-cause investigations with corrective actions and verification of resolution.
