Job summary

GreenTech in the UK is seeking a Battery Engineer to diagnose, test and validate automotive battery systems for EVs and commercial fleets. You will work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on site in Southam as part of a fast-growing SME.

Responsibilities include disassembling LV/HV packs, building modules and packs, diagnosing faults in BMS, CAN and battery systems, and recording data and repair history.

Qualifications

• IMI Level 4 EV Battery qualification or equivalent competence.
• Experience with high-voltage automotive battery systems.
• Experience diagnosing battery and electrical system faults.
• Understanding of BMS, contactors, wiring and battery monitoring systems.
• Ability to work within defined safety procedures and conduct risk assessments.
• Willingness to take on varied duties in a small growing SME.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, test and validate automotive battery systems.
• Safely disassemble LV and HV battery systems using appropriate tools.
• Identify, assess and harvest reusable battery components and modules.
• Build and assemble battery modules, packs and complete systems.
• Diagnose battery, BMS, electrical, mechanical, thermal and communications faults.
• Record and retain accurate technical data and repair history.
• Support root cause analysis and structured problem solving.
• Contribute to SOPs, work instructions and test procedures.
• Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality and Programme teams.
• Represent GreenTech professionally with customers and partners.
• Undertake other duties as needed in a fast-paced SME.
