Iron Mountain is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert HR advice and coaching to People Leaders, leading the local execution of operational change (like reorganizations), and ensuring compliance with local UK employment laws to maintain a respectful and high-performing workplace. The role plays a key part in reducing legal risk and ensuring fair treatment across the business.
What You'll Do (Core Responsibilities)
In this role, you will :
- Provide expert advice and coaching on complex employee relations issues, performance management, discipline, and grievances to upskill People Leaders and ensure sound, consistent judgment.
- Collaborate closely with HR Business Partners, Centres of Excellence, and legal teams to deliver consistent, effective HR solutions and ensure alignment between global and local priorities.
- Lead the local execution of organizational changes , including large and small reorganizations or reductions in force (RIFs), by ensuring legal compliance, managing communication, and handling consultation and severance processes.
- Manage local labour relations by fostering strong relationships with unions and works councils, leading negotiations, conducting thorough investigations, and managing grievances.
- Support the local delivery of global HR projects and provide essential expertise during mergers, acquisitions, and employee transfers, guaranteeing smooth implementation aligned with local needs.
What You'll Bring (Skills & Qualifications)
- 5+ years of progressive experience in an HR Generalist or Employee Relations focused role within the UK.
- Strong knowledge of UK labour law and practical application of HR policies and best practices to ensure compliance and reduce organizational risk.
- Proven ability in stakeholder management, influence, and judgment to navigate complex, sensitive employee issues and build trusted relationships across a matrixed environment.
- A Professional HR certification such as CIPD is highly preferred.
- Full professional proficiency in English is required.
- Travel - Willing to travel within the UK up to 10% travel to maintain business knowledge and key relationships with team members and stakeholders.
