The role is a key consultant and advisor, ensuring HR initiatives, policies, procedures, and practices support organisational goals, whilst foster a high performing, inclusive workplace culture.

The role:

  • Partner with department leaders to develop and implement HR strategies that support business objectives, ensuring the successful delivery of the organisation's people strategy.
  • Trusted advisor to People Leaders, delivering creative and strategic HR solutions that drive performance and engagement.
  • Support the business and employees to develop a diverse & inclusive working environment.
  • Partner with Learning & Development and Talent to develop, manage, and facilitate learning and development programmes.
  • Work with Union workforce representatives on any proposed changes.
  • Lead the review and development of HR policies and procedures.
  • Provide advice and guidance, including complex case management and people risks.
  • Implement and evaluate HR policies, procedures, and process to improve organisational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support Community Growth pillar within Unity & Me as a key sponsor and contribute to activities to enhance and improve uptake and participation, aligned with the Scrum Leaders
  • Support and facilitate performance management, goal setting and annual review processes within assigned operational areas.
  • Support any ongoing health related absences, including long term sick reviews and occupational health referrals.
  • Lead employee engagement workshops and support the creation of localised action plans with wider trends collated for overall Bank strategy.

The Person and Key Experience:

  • HR post graduate diploma/Membership of the CIPD (E)
  • Proven experience of progressive HR experience in a generalist role that can demonstrate adoption of business partnering practices.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Confidence working with data and using it to inform decisions and improve outcomes.
  • Proficiency with digital tools and HR technology.
  • Strong Understanding of UK employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Prior experience working in or supporting in financial services or a regulated industry is highly advantageous.
  • Experience in coaching operations in complex, fast-paced, and regulated environments.
  • Sound written communication skills and the ability to convey complex topics in a simple, engaging way.
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent qualification desirable.
  • Experience in a unionised environment would be desirable but not essential.

This role is ideally suited to an experienced HR professional that is looking to take their first HR Business Partner role. Although you may not have acted in the role of HR Business Partner previously, experience will be considered to anyone who is a highly experienced HR Officer or Advisor that can demonstrate evidence of HR business partnering skills and activities in their day-to-day approach. Salary expectations should be discussed with a member of the Talent Team as the role is set with development into role in mind.
