JOB SUMMARY

The postholder will contribute to and support the effective management of Human Resources (HR) Operations, providing expert advice on a full range of HR issues, primarily terms and conditions, attendance management, and employee relations. The post holder will act as a lead HR contact for key internal and external clients, advising on employee relations, performance management, absence management, and pay and conditions issues. Additionally, the postholder will collaborate with clients to deliver change initiatives and ad hoc projects related to workforce planning. They will also be responsible for ensuring a training program for managers is provided to communicate key HR topics essential for service delivery.

KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Jointly responsible for the day-to-day delivery of operational HR advice and services to clients, ensuring high-quality professional advice and reporting to meet targets as per Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  2. Contribute to the Directorate's Business Plan and SLAs, prioritizing work and collaborating with Senior Business Partners to meet requirements.
  3. Ensure all clients receive effective and efficient services in accordance with SLA standards.
  4. Support the development and implementation of a People Plan for client organizations, including mechanisms to monitor its impact.
  5. Support the development of HR policies and procedures, ensuring effective communication and oversight to meet organizational needs.
  6. Ensure effective use of HR systems like HRPTS by managers, providing advisory support as needed.
  7. Maintain appropriate documentation in line with statutory and local requirements, considering data protection legislation.
  8. Provide advice and support on HR matters, including terms and conditions, attendance, and employee relations, ensuring compliance with policies and legislation.
  9. Participate in meetings with clients, contributing to organizational development and supporting Senior HR Business Partners.
Criteria Method of Assessment Experience / Qualifications/ Registration
  • University Degree or professional qualification in HR AND 2 years' HR experience, including advising managers and staff; OR 5 years' HR experience with similar responsibilities.
  • Hold a valid UK driving license and have access to a car.
Essential Skills / Abilities / Knowledge
  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation and NHS / HSC terms and conditions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and limited resources.
  • Leadership ability to guide a team and the wider HR function.
