Job summary

Project Better Energy is seeking an HR Advisor to sit at the center of our growing group, advising managers on employee relations, supporting change, and helping to build strong teams.

You’ll develop manager training, assist recruitment when needed, and contribute to talent, engagement, and culture initiatives across our businesses. Travel between Burton/Stretton, Hyde, and other group locations will be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in an HR Advisor or similar role handling employee relations.
• Ability to coach managers and build trust.
• Willingness to travel between Burton/Stretton, Hyde, and other group locations.

Responsibilities

• Advising and coaching managers on employee relations matters, from absence and performance to more complex cases.
• Helping managers have effective conversations and make fair, well-judged decisions.
• Supporting the development and delivery of manager training on employee relations topics.
• Working with the wider HR and recruitment teams to support hiring when needed, including coaching managers on fair recruitment.
• Contributing to people projects and improvements across our businesses.
• Identify opportunities to use technology and AI to simplify routine People processes and improve manager self-service.
• Working closely with the People Operations Lead to ensure HR processes are delivered effectively and consistently.
• Participate in organisational change, engagement, talent, performance and culture initiatives.

There’s a lot happening across Project Better Energy. Our businesses are growing, new teams are coming together, and our managers are working out what they need to deliver the next stage of our plans.

We’re looking for an HR Advisor who wants to be right in the middle of that.

You’ll work closely with managers across our group, helping them handle people matters well, build strong teams and support their people through change. Some days that will mean giving clear, practical advice on an employee relations issue. Others will mean coaching a manager through a difficult conversation, helping a newly acquired business feel part of the group, or improving an experience that isn’t working as well as it should.

This is a broad role with plenty of variety. You’ll also contribute to manager training, support recruitment when needed, and help us build stronger connections with the communities and future talent around our businesses.

We’d love to hear from someone who enjoys building relationships, brings sound HR judgement and is comfortable getting involved. You don’t need to have worked in renewable energy before, but you should be excited by the opportunity to support a business that’s growing and changing.

What we’re looking for

You’ll have experience in an HR Advisor or similar role and be comfortable managing a varied employee relations workload. You’ll know when to give a clear answer, when to ask more questions, and how to build trust with managers while offering constructive challenge.

You’ll enjoy working with different teams and finding practical ways to improve things.

Able and willing to travel regularly between Burton/Stretton and Hyde and to other Group locations when required.
