Job summary

ManpowerGroup Talent Solutions is seeking an HR Advisor for a hands-on generalist role at a busy Newport site. You will provide practical HR support to managers and employees across the site, handling ER matters, policy guidance, and reporting.

The role requires experience as an HR Advisor or HR Generalist, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. Onsite engagement and progression opportunities are offered.

Are you an experienced HR professional looking for a varied role where no two days are the same?

We are a leading manufacturing business operating a busy 24/7 production environment. We are looking for a proactive and people-focused HR Advisor to join our HR team and provide support across a wide range of employee relations and HR activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on, generalist HR role and thrives in a fast-paced operational environment.

The Role

As HR Advisor, you will provide practical HR support and guidance to managers and employees across the site.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing employee relations casework, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and capability matters.
• Supporting managers through investigations, hearings and formal processes.
• Monitoring and analysing absence trends and supporting effective absence management.
• Assisting with long-term sickness cases in partnership with Occupational Health and management teams.
• Providing advice on HR policies, procedures and employment legislation.
• Supporting employee engagement initiatives and maintaining a visible presence across the site.
• Producing HR reports and maintaining accurate employee records and HR systems.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Experienced in an HR Advisor or HR Generalist role.
• Confident managing a wide range of employee relations cases.
• An excellent communicator with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
• Organised, proactive and capable of managing competing priorities.Positive, approachable and able to work independently using their own initiative.

Experience within manufacturing, engineering, logistics, warehousing, distribution, or another operational environment is highly desirable. Experience working with a unionised workforce and a CIPD qualification (or working towards one) would be advantageous.

Working Hours

This role is based on-site in Newport. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM.
