Job summary

Durham County Council, within Highways Services, seeks Hub Assistant across Grades 5–8. You will support the HUB Manager and Highway Superintendents to achieve timely reporting for reactive and programmed activities, with tasks carried out under supervision and increasing independence as you develop.

Entry at Grade 5–8 depends on qualifications and experience, with progression to Grade 8 possible as you gain skills. Hybrid working is available where applicable.

Qualifications

• Four GCSEs (A*-C) including English, Maths and a Science.
• Understanding of Highway Safety Inspection Manual and Inspection Rota.
• Knowledge of current defect hierarchy and intervention levels.
• Experience in performance-driven environments.
• Experience in highways or local authority environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the HUB Manager and Highway Superintendents in achieving timely reporting for reactive and programmed activities.
• Deliver tasks within the scope of the role under regular supervision and progress to independence.
• Develop skills and understanding of processes as you progress through grades.
