Job summary

UK Atomic Energy Authority is seeking a senior engineer to lead the STEP HTS magnet technology development programme, delivering bench-scale tests and sub-scale prototypes for the model coil project.

You will manage a multi-disciplinary team, design experiments, drive technology development plans, and communicate complex findings clearly to diverse audiences, while collaborating internationally to expand HTS magnet capabilities.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of HTS magnet design and multi-physics.
• Experience designing experiments and leading test campaigns.
• Ability to lead diverse, multidisciplinary teams and manage budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead the STEP HTS magnet technology development programme.
• Deliver bench-scale tests, short cable, and magnet materials programmes on time.
• Produce clear technology development plans and manage a multi-disciplinary team.
• Interface between design teams and model coil development programme; communicate results clearly.
