Job summary

Project People is seeking a Director of HSQE to lead the health, safety, quality and environmental strategy for a major UK infrastructure organisation. This senior role shapes governance, drives risk management and ensures regulatory compliance across multi-site operations.

You will build a high-performing HSQE team and partner with the Board to drive cultural change and safer, more efficient performance. UK legislation, ISO 45001 standards and NEBOSH qualifications are essential, with Chartered

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in infrastructure/regulated environments.
• Proven knowledge of UK HSQE governance and legislation.
• Chartered IOSH status or progressing towards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the organisation-wide HSQE strategy.
• Advise the Board on risk, compliance and best practice.
• Oversee governance, assurance, audit and incident management frameworks.
• Drive safety culture and operational performance improvements.
• Lead contractor and supplier assurance programmes.
• Ensure compliance with UK legislation and ISO 45001.
• Manage serious incident investigations and regulatory engagement.
• Develop and lead a high-performing HSQE team.
