Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a Health, Safety, Environment and Wellbeing (HSEW) professional to lead assurance operations on our account, supporting management, employees, and partners to build a safe, compliant workplace. You will develop and deliver Level 3 assurance activities, report findings to the Senior HSE Manager, and help anticipate future legislation.

The role emphasizes data-driven monitoring of leading and lagging indicators and training to maintain competence levels.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day assurance operations and management reporting of HSEW incidents and near-misses, ensuring investigations and corrective actions are completed within set timeframes.
• Lead Level 3 assurance activities (proactive audits) within the Assurance framework.
• Provide safety and risk intelligent professional support to the account management team, client, employees, supply chain partners and volunteers.
• Identify future HSEW legislation changes and plan timely adaptation.
• Identify and facilitate delivery of HSEW-related training ensuring competence levels are maintained.
• Establish and manage a data-rich environment to monitor leading and lagging indicators and prevent recurrence of incidents.
• Govern and oversee team process and procedure compliance through audits with the wider Assurance team.

About The Role

• Encourage and support the creation of a functional behavioural safety culture that embraces and supports Health, Safety and Wellbeing principles and goals.
• Provide safety and risk intelligent professional support to the account whilst supporting and advising the management team, client, employees, supply chain partners and volunteers.
• Lead the Assurance contract team in the support of day-to-day assurance operations, including management and reporting of all HSEW accidents/incidents/near misses, ensuring timely investigations are undertaken and reported, corrective actions assigned, learning from experience applied and updates provided as required within set timeframes.
• Anticipate / be aware of future HSEW legislation changes and make plans to adapt to new legislation in a controlled / timely manner.
• Identify and facilitate the delivery of HSEW related training to relevant account team stakeholders ensuring minimum stated OCS/client specified competence levels are maintained.
• Lead the development and delivery of Level 3 assurance activities (proactive management auditing) in line with the Assurance framework.
• Report direct to the Senior HSE Manager all non-compliant findings on a day-to-day basis.
• Support the management team on assurance measures to maintain a compliant and safe working environment.
• Establish and manage a data rich environment which will allow monitoring of leading and lagging indicators to prevent recurrence of incidents and elevate performance
• Establish, govern and oversight of team process and procedure compliance, via monitoring and audits with support of wider Assurance team
