Job summary

Probe UK is seeking an experienced HSEQ Manager to lead health, safety, environmental and quality across our established engineering/fabrication business. You will own the HSEQ function, drive audits and maintain industry accreditations while continually improving management systems.

The role requires hands-on leadership, with experience in steelwork/ fabrication and EN1090/CE/UKCA compliance. A commercial, people-focused approach will help elevate HSEQ standards across the operation.

Qualifications

• An experienced HSEQ Manager with a background in structural steelwork, fabrication, engineering, construction, manufacturing or a safety-critical environment.
• NEBOSH Construction certification required.
• Proven experience managing HSEQ systems, ISO standards and internal/external audits, ideally with Lead Auditor experience.
• Strong knowledge of EN1090-1 and CE/UKCA compliance, RISQS/rail experience highly desirable.
• Experience maintaining contractor and supply-chain accreditations such as Achilles, Constructionline, SafeContractor and UVDB.
• TechIOSH or above, with IEMA/environmental experience and/or Level 5 occupational health & safety qualification advantageous.
• A hands-on, commercially aware communicator who can influence people at all levels and improve HSEQ standards beyond bureaucracy.

Responsibilities

• Own the HSEQ function across the business, driving high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance.
• Lead and continuously improve the Integrated Management System, ensuring policies, procedures, risk assessments and processes remain effective and compliant.
• Manage ISO, EN1090 and RISQS compliance, plan and coordinate audits and drive internal audit programmes and corrective actions.
• Maintain key industry accreditations including Achilles, Constructionline, SafeContractor, RISQS and UVDB, ensuring audit readiness.
• Drive a positive safety culture, deliver toolbox talks, support training, and implement practical initiatives to improve HSEQ performance.
• Provide expert advice across the business, including incident investigations, change management and legislative compliance.
