Job summary

Comprehensive Technologies International is seeking a Health, Safety & Compliance Lead in Retford. The role guides HSEQ across the UK, supports European expansion and ensures legal compliance while promoting a culture of safe, practical risk management on site.

You will conduct site walks, partner with regional leaders, develop reporting dashboards and lead investigations into incidents and near misses, ensuring continuous improvement across CTI’s operations.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent; Level 6 Diploma strongly preferred or working towards one.
• Proven HSEQ experience in a practical, hands-on role.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and practical application.
• Experience supporting European operations is desirable.
• Familiarity with OSHA terminology and US requirements is advantageous.
• IOSH membership is preferred or in progress toward Chartered status.
• Operational and site experience across offices, warehouses and sites.
• Proven ability to translate data into practical HSEQ actions and reporting.
• Experience leading incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Experience with audits, inspections and management system development.
• Policy/procedure development and building compliance coordination.
• Ability to engage stakeholders and drive continuous improvement.
• Clear, credible communication of HSEQ risk to UK and US leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain HSEQ policies reflecting UK and European requirements.
• Serve as primary HSEQ escalation point for complex matters.
• Ensure legal compliance with Health & Safety and environmental regulations.
• Support CTI expansion into Europe with appropriate HSEQ framework.
• Conduct site walks and inspections across branches, warehouses and project sites.
• Collaborate with Branch/Regional Leadership to drive ownership and accountability.
• Create and maintain HSEQ reporting, dashboards and MI for leadership.
• Lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Support RAMS and safe systems of work development and review.
• Coordinate building compliance and manage records for audits and inspections.
• Assist customer compliance efforts (PQQs, CHAS, SSIP, Constructionline).
• Liaise with US leadership to align standards while respecting local requirements.
• Promote a safety-first culture and practical risk management across the business.
