The McDermott group is seeking an HSEQ Advisor based in Perth, Scotland, to uphold high standards in health, safety, environmental protection, and quality management.

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Manage and liaise with HSEQ auditors to secure and maintain certifications.
- Create, monitor, and update procedures within the Quality Management System.
- Coach and advise staff on HSEQ matters to ensure legal compliance.
- Plan and conduct audits, documenting outcomes and implementing improvements.
- Provide training on HSEQ topics to staff.
- Ensure processes meet their intended outputs and report on performance and improvements.
- Promote customer focus and maintain the integrity of the HSEQ system.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop safe operational procedures.
- Perform site inspections to ensure compliance with policies and legislation.
- Develop health and safety strategies and policies.
- Lead training sessions for managers and staff on HSEQ issues.
- Maintain records of inspections, incidents, and accidents, producing reports and statistics.
- Stay updated on legislation and industry developments.
- Produce management reports, newsletters, and bulletins.
- Ensure safe installation of equipment and manage hazardous substance disposal (e.g., asbestos, COSHH).
- Advise on specialist areas like fire safety, hazardous substances, noise, and machinery safeguarding.
- Manage emergency procedures, signage, PPE, and COSHH controls.
- Hold NEBOSH General or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrate passion and knowledge in HSEQ subjects.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team, meeting deadlines.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
- Strong knowledge of risk assessments, COSHH, RIDDOR, and DSE regulations.
- Experience or training as an auditor.
- Hands-on approach to implementing processes and change.
- Hold a full UK driving license and be willing to travel.
- Must have full rights to work in the UK (IDLR or Settled Status).
