Job description

Dales Marine Services is a well-established provider of Ship Repair, Fabrication, and Engineering services for the offshore oil industry, serving both local and national clients.

We are looking for candidates for our busy Leith dry dock and fabrication facility.

HSEQ Advisor

This role may suit someone who has recently obtained their NEBOSH (National Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety) and is seeking experience and development in an HSEQ Advisor position. Experience in ship repair, welding/fabrication, or engineering is preferred but not essential.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

  • Qualifications: NEBOSH (National Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety); NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate is preferred.
  • Experience: Background in engineering, fabrication, or related industry is preferred but not essential.
  • Conducting site safety inductions and contractor inductions, and checking relevant paperwork.
  • Assisting with permits for employees and contractors.
  • Performing daily on-site safety inspections.
  • Ensuring PTWs, RAs, and Method Statements are properly written, coordinated, and implemented.
  • Creating job-specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements, and ensuring employee awareness.
  • Investigating and recording incidents and accidents.
  • Implementing safety training and maintaining the training matrix.
  • Conducting plant and machinery insurance inspections.
  • Maintaining all lifting equipment and safety harnesses.
  • Assisting with internal and external audits.
  • Implementing monthly safety initiatives.
  • Maintaining relevant safety systems.
  • Performing other duties and administrative tasks as instructed by your line manager.
