Job summary

GOLDBECK SOLAR is seeking an on-site HSE Team Manager (m/f/d) in the UK, based at the Farnborough office with travel to project sites across the UK. Lead the on-site HSE/CDM Managers, develop HSE standards, and strengthen health, safety, and environmental performance on UK projects.

You will work with site operations and back-office HSE teams to improve reporting and compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
• Several years of experience in HSE, ideally within utility-scale solar.
• Strong knowledge of UK HSE/CDM requirements.
• Experience leading or developing HSE teams.
• Fluent English and travel willingness.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site HSE/CDM Managers across UK projects.
• Ensure HSE performance and reporting.
• Conduct site visits and HSE inspections.
• Lead incident management and follow-ups.
• Perform performance reviews of HSE staff.
• Support Tendering with HSE input for PQQs/RFQs/ITTs.
• Review employers' requirements from an HSE perspective.
• Monitor legislation and implement UK processes.
• Support ISO certification efforts for the UK entity.
• Plan and deliver HSE training for HSE/CDM Managers, Site Managers and Supervisors.
• Collaborate with Project Delivery and ESG teams to raise UK delivery standards.

What you can expect

As HSE Team Manager (m/f/d) in the UK, you will take responsibility for leading our on-site HSE / CDM Managers and further developing our HSE standards, processes and reporting structures. You will play a key role in strengthening health, safety and environmental performance across our UK projects, supporting both site operations and back-office HSE processes.
The role is based at our Farnborough UK Office and includes regular travel to project sites across the UK.

Tasks

1. Lead and support the on-site HSE / CDM Managers across UK projects
2. Hold the HSE team accountable for site HSE performance and reporting
3. Conduct regular site visits and spot checks to monitor HSE standards
4. Lead incident management processes and support follow-up actions
5. Carry out performance reviews for HSE team members
6. Support the Tendering team with HSE input for PQQs, RFQs and ITTs
7. Review employer’s requirements from an HSE perspective
8. Conduct annual reviews of HSE policies and procedures
9. Monitor legislative changes and ensure implementation in UK processes
10. Support the achievement of relevant ISO certifications for the UK entity
11. Plan and deliver HSE training for HSE / CDM Managers, Site Managers and Site Supervisors
12. Work closely with Project Delivery and ESG teams to improve UK delivery standards related to HSE

Profile

1. Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field
2. Several years of experience in HSE, ideally within utility-scale solar projects
3. Strong understanding of site-based HSE / CDM management in the UK
4. Experience in leading, coordinating or developing HSE teams
5. Good understanding of HSE policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
6. Experience with incident management, site inspections and HSE reporting
7. Knowledge of ISO certification processes would be an advantage
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
9. Structured, organized and solution-oriented way of working
10. Confident leadership style with the ability to hold teams accountable
11. Fluent English skills
12. Willingness to travel regularly to project sites across the UK
