Job summary

Octagon Group in Ilfracombe, United Kingdom, seeks an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental Manager to lead strategic and operational HSE across a high‑tech manufacturing environment.

Reporting to the HR Director, you will foster a proactive HSE culture, ensure regulatory compliance, drive continuous improvement, and chair the Health & Safety Committee.

This role offers ownership of HSE strategy and significant influence on decision making for a safer, more sustainable workplace.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH certificate is required.
• Experience in a similar HSE role in manufacturing is highly desirable.
• Environment qualification relevant to the role is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of a positive HSE culture and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory health, safety, environmental and welfare legislation.
• Manage ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certifications and keep systems effective.
• Develop and monitor HSE targets and improvement programmes to enhance performance.
• Provide expert guidance to leaders and stakeholders at all levels.
• Chair and lead the Health & Safety Committee and promote best practice.
