Job summary

ERSG Ltd is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to lead Health, Safety and Environmental activities across major energy projects. You will implement HSE strategies, drive regulatory compliance and promote high safety standards on complex construction and commissioning sites.

Reporting to project leadership, you will manage HSE teams, oversee audits and investigations, and drive continuous improvement with a proactive risk-based approach across all project activities.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Diploma or NEBOSH General Certificate with substantial experience.
• Extensive HSE leadership experience in energy, power, or large construction.
• Solid knowledge of UK HSE law, CDM Regulations 2015 and safety requirements.
• Experience managing HSE teams and subcontractor compliance on large projects.
• Proven skills in risk management, auditing, incident investigations and performance monitoring.
• IOSH membership and ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 auditing qualifications are advantageous.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proactive, structured approach to risk management and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of project HSE management systems, policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with UK HSE legislation, CDM Regulations 2015 and project/client requirements.
• Provide HSE leadership and guidance to project management, site teams and subcontractors.
• Manage and develop the HSE team, promoting accountability and consistent safety standards.
• Oversee site inspections, audits, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Lead incident investigations, identify root causes and implement corrective and preventative measures.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
• Track HSE performance, analyse key indicators and report on progress to senior management.
• Oversee site inductions, training and workforce engagement initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement and promote a positive safety culture across all project activities.
