Job summary

Sustainable Talent is seeking an experienced HS&E Manager to lead health, safety and environmental efforts for major power infrastructure projects across Scotland. You will guide strategic direction and provide operational support to multiple projects, ensuring Zero Harm delivery while driving continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Head of Health, Safety & Wellbeing, you will manage HS&E resources, mentor teams, and collaborate with clients, regulators and partners.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Chartered IOSH status or working towards Chartered Membership.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and CDM regulations.
• Experience in construction, utilities, power, infrastructure or related sectors.
• Demonstrable experience leading and developing HS&E teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Experience supporting senior operational and functional leadership teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of the Zero Harm strategy across the business unit and projects.
• Manage and develop a team of HS&E professionals through coaching and performance management.
• Support Project Directors, Operational Teams and Senior Leadership in improving health, safety and environmental performance.
• Deploy HS&E resources across projects with risk-based alignment.
• Engage with clients, regulators, joint venture partners and supply chain organisations.
• Lead inspection, assurance and audit programmes across the business.
• Review incidents and performance data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Support bid submissions and work-winning activities.
• Facilitate project and business performance reviews using leading and lagging indicators.
• Drive continual improvement initiatives and promote best practice.
