Job summary

First Recruitment Group seeks a Field HSE Lead to manage four HSE Officers and report to the Project HSE Manager on a Carbon Capture project in the UK. You will drive health, safety and environmental performance across site activities.

Role requires proven HSE leadership, knowledge of UK CDM regulations, and experience in major energy or construction projects. You will lead investigations, risk assessments, audits, and liaise with clients, subcontractors and regulators.

Qualifications

• Experience in an HSE leadership or management role, ideally within major energy, oil & gas, construction, or industrial projects, with exposure to international operator standards.
• Knowledge of UK HSE legislation, including CDM Regulations and industry best practices.
• Leadership: ability to lead, develop, and motivate HSE teams in a project environment.
• Communication: excellent stakeholder management and communication skills at all levels.

Purpose of the Position

As the Field HSE Lead, you will manage a team of four HSE Officers and report directly to the Project HSE Manager. You will play a key role in supporting our clients Carbon Capture Project, ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental performance are maintained across all site activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain HSE management systems across the site, including subcontractors, in accordance with Client, IOGP, and ISO standards.
• Act as the primary HSE focal point for site operations, ensuring effective management of all HSE-related matters.
• Ensure compliance with UK legislation, including CDM Regulations.
• Lead, develop, and manage the Field HSE team.
• Provide HSE guidance, support, and advice to project and site management teams.
• Interface closely with and support the onsite Environmental Management team.
• Lead accident and incident investigations, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions implemented.
• Establish and implement HSE monitoring, inspection, and audit programmes.
• Lead risk management activities, including HAZOPs, HAZIDs, Risk Assessments, and Hazard & Effects Management Processes.
• Liaise with Clients, Subcontractors, and Regulatory Authorities on HSE matters.
• Develop and maintain emergency response plans for identified risks and potential incidents.
