Health Safety and Environment Manager

Leading Manufacturing company (FMCG)

Nantwich, Cheshire

£50,000 - £65,000 per annum (D.O.E) + 10% Bonus

Seeking an experienced HSE Leader to support and develop a medium-sized, fast-paced manufacturing site in Cheshire. The focus will be to ensure that the current safety management system is robust and comprehensive, and to drive cultural change by engaging the workforce in owning safety.

Internally, this role is called a Lead HSE Advisor, but you will have full creative control of the site, reporting to the Factory Manager with a dotted line to the Cluster HSE Manager, who is very supportive. This role suits a strong Health, Safety, and Environment Advisor with site management experience or a current HSE manager seeking a new challenge. You will be able to put your own stamp on safety and shape the future of HSE across the site.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE legislation and company policies.
2. Create and implement a 3–5 year HSE plan.
3. Collaborate with team leaders, factory managers, and other stakeholders.
4. Support and promote a proactive safety culture where the workforce is engaged, empowered, and confident to take ownership of safety.
5. Support continuous improvement in Health, Safety, and Environment standards and practices annually.
6. Lead HSE projects across the site.

Essential Qualifications and Background:

1. NEBOSH Certificate or higher.
2. Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ideally within food, drink, paper, or packaging sectors.
3. Ability to lead cultural change within the organization.
4. Previous responsibility for site HSE management.
5. Visible and approachable leadership style.
